MODA Glass

Float Glass

Our Float glass is available in a wide array thicknesses and has no colour. Take a look at our chart below for more information on the specifications of the float glass options and how they can benefit your home.

Colour Tinted Glass

Colour Tinted Glass is much the same as the Clear Float Glass, with the added benefits of being better at light and heat resistance and also a beautiful look. The Tinted Float Glass is available in a wide range of colours and thickness and as the Clear Float Glass, is not tempered or laminated as standard.

Tempered glass

Tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal, Float Glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the inner surfaces into tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as plate glass (aka: annealed glass) create. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.

Most commonly used in motor vehicle passenger windows and secured buildings, Tempered Glass is a great choice for those concerned with safety or security. It is also available in a variety of colours and thicknesses.

Laminated Safety Glass

Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. In the event of breaking, it is held in place by an interlayer, typically of polyvinyl butyral (PVB), between its two or more layers of glass. The interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded even when broken, and its high strength prevents the glass from breaking up into large sharp pieces. This produces a characteristic “spider web” cracking pattern when the impact is not enough to completely pierce the glass.

Most commonly used in motor vehicles and secured buildings, Laminated Glass is the number 1 choice for those concerned with safety or security. It is also available in a variety of colours and thicknesses.
